BurroughsMiniaturewindow-6.jpg

Now for something totally different!

This is an exquisite antique miniature Burrowes salesman's sample double hung window.  It is probably the finest salesman's smaple I have ever seen in my near 20 years of dealing in miniatures.  It is an exact model of the product made by the Burrowes Window Company in the 1930's and 40's.  It was used by their salesmen for demonstration purposes avoiding the necessity of using a much bulkier and heavier full size window.  The scale of all components is exact.  The windows have beveled glass.  The window frame joints are all tongue and grooved.  The handles and feet are cast brass and all parts of the piece are in exact proportion to one another.  The window can be taken apart for demonstration purposes and is easily reassembled.  The Burrowes name is carved into the top front as shown in photo 5.  Complete with the screens.  The dimisions are 13 7/8" high, 6 3/4" wide, and 2 3/8" deep.  The old world craftsmanship and attention to detail is just amazing.  Exceptional condition considering how much one of these was probably carried around.  Shows only minimal handling wear with some minor dings and bruises.  You just don't see something like this every day!

This is a really cool 1/4 scale running model of a twin cylinder Indian outboard boat motor as made in the 1930's.  Displacement is .30 cubic inches and it stands 10 1/2" tall.  Limited edition of only 70 pieces.  Runs on model airplane fuel and has glow plugs.  Includes instructions for starting and running and it is actually water cooled.  Beautiful cast aluminum and machined aluminum parts including the Indian water transfer decal on the gas tank with all the instructions on each side.  I know, it's not my normal type of stuff, but I just fell in love with it and thought some of you might too.  Additional photos upon request.
