Uberti-SAA-Sheriff-NIckel-50-1.JPG

!!!!!  Note: Super early serial number 50  !!!!!

This is a 47% scale miniature Colt Single Action Army Revolver, Sheriff's Model,  Model 1873 with 3" barrel.  3 15/16" long overall with a 1 3/8" long rifled barrel of .21 caliber.  Checkered hammer spur, no ejector rod or ejector rod housing.  The barrel marked on the underside with the maker's marks, in a much smaller font than normally seen.   Made by Uberti in Italy.  Beautiful very dark straight grained varnished walnut grips. Nickel finish with blue screws.  Black powder "pinched" frame. The caliber marking 45 CAL is stamped on the left rear side of the triggerguard, no patent dates stamped on the left front of the frame. The serial number, 50, is stamped on the frame, triggerguard, the bottom of the backstrap, the loading gate, and the rear of the cylinder.  Fully functional, but non-firing.  This is the earliest Uberti Colt Single Action Army Army I have ever seen.  Note no patent dates, note a different Uberti marking on the underside of the barrel, note the serial number on the rear of the cylinder.  There features are only seen on very early production pieces.  Here's a chance to acquire a very early and rare variation!  The nickel finished parts are in mint condition.  The blue screws are starting to turn plum gray/brown.  There is also some crazing or checking to the varnish on the grips, and a few very small chips of missing varnish.   I have sent this piece to Larry Smith to have him refinish the grips back to new and to also repolish and fire blue all the screws.

Out for repair

SAALondonFlattopTargetModel.jpg

A beautiful 47% scale London Colt Single Action Army "Flat Top Target" Revolver. This started life as a standard Colt SAA from Uberti. The late Terry Farrand milled off the original top strap, then machined the new Flat Top Target top strap and micro welded it on. He also hand made the special target front sight and base. He then did the high polish on the metal which would be standard on a Flat Top Target model. Roger Sampson hand engraved the markings including the London barrel address on the top of the barrel, .450 Boxer caliber marking on the left side of the barrel just ahead of the frame. The serial #01 is engraved on the frame, triggerguard, backstrap, and the rear of the cylinder. British proof marks are engraved on the top right of the barrel just ahead of the frame and at the rear of the cylinder between the chambers. All blue finish as would be standard on a Flat Top Target model. Two piece black hard rubber grips with the rampant Colt logo near the top and a winged eagle with shield near the bottom on both sides. The grips with brass escutcheons and a fire blue screw.  A great piece and perfect in every aspect.  Cased in a great walnut key lock hinged top casing with dummy cartridges, oil bottle and Colt instructions interior lid label.
