There is simply no way that one photo can do this exquisit 1/2 scale miniature Winchester Model 1894 take down rifle justice, it is just too wonderful! This is a Russian made 1/2 scale miniature of a 26 inch octagon barreled take down Winchester 1894 rifle with full magazine, pistol gripped stock with blued steel grip cap, and crescent buttplate. This piece is profusely and expertly engraved including the receiver, muzzle and breech ends of the barrel, forearm cap, and buttplate. There are beautiful platnium wire inlays on the receiver, muzzle and breech ends of the barrel, forearm cap, lever, and buttplate. The left side of the receiver has a round game panel showing a running deer in a woodland scene. The right side of the receiver has a round game panel showing a hunting dog in a woodland scene. The balance of the receiver scroll engraved with a typical Winchester border pattern. The engraver is unknown, but good! The gorgeous highly figured pistol grip stock and forearm have been finely checkered and finished by master checkerer and stock maker James Corpe. The barrel markings, take down lever markings, .32-40 caliber markings, and tang markings have been hand engraved by master engraver Roger Sampson. Doug Turnbull has worked his magic in finishing this beauty and has case colored the receiver, lever, hammer, forearm cap, and buttplate. The balance of the steel parts are finished in a highly polished rich deep blue. Truely, this is a masterpiece taking over three years to complete using only the finest craftsmen available. Lots of additional photos available and they really must be seen to properly appreciate this piece. This could be the centerpiece of even the finest miniature arms collection.

This beautiful rifle started out as an unstocked Uberti 1866 carbine. It is now an authentic miniature recreation of the presentation Maximilian Winchester 1866 carbine. The ivory stocks were made, and the high relief Mexican eagle with cactus and snake hand carved by master ivory carver Dennis Holland. The receiver and buttplate were engraved my master engraver Tom Hicks. The brass receiver, sideplates, and buttplate are silver plated. The steel parts are blued with the exception of the lever and hammer which are case colored. The rifled barrel has an open bore and is marked with the proper Winchester barrel address. The receiver has another dipiction of the Mexican eagle with cactus and snake on the left sideplate, the balance of the left side and the complete right side scroll engraved. The left top of the receiver engraved "F. Maximiliano" The right top of the receiver engraved "Emperador de Mejico". Serial numbered 1 on the lower receiver tang.
