This is a beautiful 1/2 scale Remington Model 1895 over/under derringer by master miniature maker Carmine Gianforte.  2 1/2" long overall with 1 1/2" barrels of about .20 caliber.  Expertly engraved by Tom Hicks with about 90% scroll coverage with punch dot background work.  The frame & barrels nickel plated.  The small parts blued.  Beautifull finely checkered hammer spur.  Checkered two piece black hard rubber grips.  Functional extracter and firing pin which alternates between the barrels when the hammer is cocked.  The barrel top rib marked "REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILLION, N.Y."  The serial number, 10, stamped into the bottom rear of the barrel group.  Complete with a great walnut case with a high relief carved mini Remington Model 1895 on the top.  The case interior French fit with a dark green felt.

I don't believe this to be a miniature, rather I think it's a small percussion pistol, probably carried on a watch chain.  3 3/8" long overall with 1 1/2" smoothbored brass barrels.  Beautiful ivory grips with a great aged patina.  The steel frame, hammer, & ring trigger look to have once been case colored, but are mostly gray now with just traces of color in the protected areas.  The really unusual thing about this small pistol is how it works.  There are two nipples on the top barrel.  One for the top barrel and one for the bottom barrel.  The nose of the hammer rotates, by hand, to change between barrels.  There is a finely knurled ring at the peremiter of the rotating hammer nose to make it easier to grip, and there is a spring detent which locks the nose into the proper position to strike the nipples.  There are no markings, but this is very well made and obviously antique.  I checked in Winant's book "Firearms Curiosa" and found similar pistols using this rotating hammer nose principle, but did not find one exactly like this.  Includes a non-original walnut casing, French fit, with purple velvet lining.

This is a very early and rare miniature 3mm centerfire BelMex single shot pistol by Tom Weston of Mexico City.  2 5/16" long overall with a 1 5/16" barrel.  Very obviously different from the 2mm rimfire versions when you look and the hammer and firing pin.  Bright fire blue finish starting to thin and silver in places.  Two piece pearl grips.  Includes the original Weston red cardboard casing with white silk lid lining and early markings and red velvet bottom lining.  Also includes the original ivory handled cleaning/ejector rod.  The paper external case hinge has broken, but the internal silk cloth hinge is still intact.  No cartridges are included unfortunetly.
